Week 7 - only 3 to go!

Well, I cannot believe that t is already week 7 and that there are only 3 weeks to go...and a very busy three weeks that is!!

This week, those students who will be attending either Bunbury Grammar or MacKillop next year will be attending their orientation days. These days will provide students with a snippet of high school life.  Hopefully the work we have been doing on high school preparedness will assist the students with the coming challenges.

Graduation Practice and Year 6 Busy Bee 
This Friday, the Year 6 students will have their first graduation practice at the church, followed by living out our service as we help out some of the parish community at the church busy bee . The students will need to wear their sport uniform, have a hat, wear sunscreen and bring a packed recess and lunch and water.

Math Club 
A massive well done to all the students who attended Math Club this year on Wednesday afternoons. You are to be commended for your dedication and resilience to your learning and development in Math. You should be very proud!

Secret Santa - Year 6 
The students have requested to do a Secret Santa across Year 6. This will be a student led initiative in the Year 6 Classroom for the students to purchase one small gift for a designated classmate. The students agreed on $10 as the max amount of money that could be spent, the suggestions were a chocolate bar, Christmas stocking, bouncy ball or craft items. Can you please ensure that you child brings their gift no later than Wednesday of week 9.

Saint Vincent De Paul Collection 
Each year at OLC we take time to be thankful for our blessings and to assist those local people in need by contributing to Christmas Hampers distributed by the St Vincent De Paul Society. We have a collection box in 6H and you are invited to contribute specified items. Please give generously to support others in what can be a difficult time of the year. Thank you.

Leaver's Shirts 
Due to an overprint, we have 10 remaining leavers shirts from the printers that are available for purchase, we are happy to sell these for a cost of $10. These shirts could be kept as a keepsake or they could be used as a shirt to sign on the last day of school. It will be first in best dressed as to their availability.

Red Wednesday
The Bishop has asked for schools to recognise and pray for people of all faiths who are persecuted for their beliefs. The students can wear something red on Wednesday. 


Photo Collection 
The students will need to collect photos of their friends and family from home and save them on their laptop. This will be essential for their graduation art piece.

Important - Graduation PowerPoint 
I am just waiting on a few more pictures to complete the graduation powerpoint. Can you please send me an email with a photo of your child as a baby and one in Kindy. Thank you.

9th December - Year 6 Graduation, last day of school, colour run

Homework
This is the last homework for the year, which will be due on Wednesday, 30th November.
Home Learning includes:

  1. Reading x 40 minutes every night - This is to include the students completing their novel and finishing their last book club role. 
  2. Math - Paper Plane measurement investigation. 
  3. Collect photos of friends and family on their laptop. 
  4. Any unfinished class tasks.

  K AY A, Wow-wee! Term 3 has really been a whirlwind, and we are not even close to finishing yet.  Firstly, well done to the superb talent at OLC's Got Talent on Friday! Well done to the Arts team who assisted with running the event! Next week, we will hope to welcome you all to the classroom for Learning Journey on Wednesday and then we have the massive OLC Sports Carnival on Friday! We will be praying for blue skies! 💙💚💛💓  Peace Poster: We have been blown away by the student's efforts on their Peace Poster this year. The posters will be available for viewing in the hall during Learning Journey, so don't forget to pay a stop to the hall.   K A Y A and Good Evening Year 6 Parents Well, this it is...This is the last Primary School Blog for this year, and the perhaps the last for some of you.  What a great year we have had...lots of laughter and learning!  We are so proud of the students and leaders they have become.  We have had a fabulous day out today with all the Year 6 students.  We are sure there are a fair few tuckered out, hopefully getting rest before their big final day of Priamry School tomorrow.
