Week 5

What a fabulous swim carnival we had on Friday.  I was so proud of the way that all year 6's helped out with the organisation on the day and encouraged others.  The leadership shown was just wonderful.  I was also so proud of the resilience shown.  So many year 6's pushed themselves even though they were nervous or not feeling well.  So many Year 6's picked themselves up, told themselves to have a go and not only got on with the task, but worked so very hard!  Way to go Year 6's!!

Important - Graduation PowerPoint 

I am are hoping that if you haven't done so already, you can find and email me a photo of your child as a baby and and a photo of your child in Kindy. We would like to create a PowerPoint for Graduation with these special photos, as well as others from their time at OLC. If you have any ripper photos from your child's time at OLC, we would greatly appreciate any donations. Please email them through so I can get onto this job as soon as I can.

2nd December - International Day of Disabilities
7th December - Christmas Concert
8th December - Year 6 Excursion Extravaganza
9th December - Year 6 Graduation, last day of school, colour run

Homework

The students homework is due on Wednesday, 16th November.

Please ensure all students are completing their homework and getting you to check it with a signature nightly and then signing the reading log and homework diary on a Tuesday afternoon before it is returned. Students who have not completed their homework will complete it during class time and during recess and lunch, an email will also be sent home to notify you. This organisation and time management skills is vital to aid in an easier transition to high school. 

Homework includes:

  1. Reading x 40 minutes every night - This can be made of any reading, including Book Club chapters (due to be read by this Thursday and the weekly book club role). If your child is unaware of their role or chapters that need to be read, I have placed this on their onenote.
  2. Math - Ultimate Time tables quiz and figure out the number question challenge and emoji crack the code challenge. 
  3. Any unfinished class tasks.

  K AY A, Can you believe that there is only 15 days left in Primary School for your child? WOW! Not only that but most of these days will include end of year excursion, practice at the Church and in the hall for Graduation and lots of end of year preparations!  Year 6 End of Year Gift  A massive thank you to the three wonderful parents who came along on Wednesday in week 6 to complete the end of year 6 gift artwork. The students did a really wonderful job on their own individual paver, which together will make up the OLC Reconciliation Pathway to the Aboriginal area at the back of the school. What an amazing legacy to leave behind - so watch this space! Well done team! Graduation Practice and Year 6 Busy Bee  Graduation Practice will start down at the Church in week 7 and 8. The students are allowed to wear their sport uniform on these days. This will be a strong focus for the next few weeks.   K AY A, I hope you have all had a tremendous break with this cracker sunshine. 🌞 I cannot wait to see the 6M family back in the classroom for an AWESOME term 4! We are going to end their time at OLC with smiles, busy times, Confirmation, Graduation, Excursions, Incursions and lots of learning! So, without further ado, let's get into it!  How awesome were the costumes for book week? Peace Poster: The results of the peace poster competition will be announced at a small assembly on Friday the 13th. (Just the Year 6 students will be in attendance). If your child is a winner, we will contact you early week 1, so that you can arrange someone to attend.  CONFIRMATION PREPARATION Our Confirmation Mass is set to take place on   Saturday the 28th of October at 6pm at Our Lady of the Southern Cross Parish . Week 6&7 - Term 3

  K AY A, We hope you enjoyed a little peace and quiet last week, whilst your child was having the time of their life at camp. Hopefully it didn't take them too long to recover from the epic adventure that it was. Luckily we had that perfectly timed long weekend as a chance to recharge for the remainder of the term. Camp 2023: There is no doubt your child was bursting at the seams to share their amazing tales and stories from camp, well after a bit of sleep...that is😊. We had the best time and the students made you guys very proud. They showed resilience and bravery in all activities, as well as kindness and respect to everyone around them. They were their teams' greatest cheer leaders, offering such wonderful support to each other. 💛 They completed any task that was asked of them with efficiency and no fuss. In the coming weeks the students will have access to a folder where they can view all the pictures taken by the teachers. You can then revisit the stories and activities
