Week 4

What a busy week last week was, with two liturgies, PAT testing, narrative cold task and everything else that is part of our normal school day.

Congratulations to all of these students however, in my eyes, all our Year 6 students are role models in our school and I view all of the students as leaders, so they will need to come to school wearing their leadership lenses every week. 


Making Jesus Real
If your child had Mr Torrese and Mrs Holt last year, could you please support them to bring their Making Jesus Real back to school. This book is meant to be Year 5 and Year 6 resource. 


Character Strengths 
Dear Parents, currently at OLC we are focusing on modeling and observing different character strengths. The strengths that we will focus on are taken directly from the VIA Institute for Character. This upcoming week we are looking for people who show Curiousity. Can you encourage your child to reflect on the following?


PAT Testing:
This week we will finalising our series of formal PAT assessments which will help further inform our understanding of your child's learning needs, as well as guide groupings within the classroom. These are diagnostic tests which inform the teachers what we need to teach, they are not something for the students to worry about.

Homework:
Last week we set up our homework which will be set on a fortnightly basis.  Students have been advised to continue with the homework that was set last week, but were provided another reading log to complete as it only covered one week.

Updated timetable
We have had a few minor changes to our classroom timetable.  Please see our updated timetable, but be advised this is not set in stone and can change from time to time.

  K AY A, I hope you have all had a tremendous break with this cracker sunshine. 🌞 I cannot wait to see the 6M family back in the classroom for an AWESOME term 4!   K AY A, Wow-wee! Term 3 has really been a whirlwind, and we are not even close to finishing yet.  Firstly, well done to the superb talent at OLC's Got Talent on Friday! Well done to the Arts team who assisted with running the event! Next week, we will hope to welcome you all to the classroom for Learning Journey on Wednesday and then we have the massive OLC Sports Carnival on Friday! We will be praying for blue skies! 💙💚💛💓  Peace Poster: We have been blown away by the student's efforts on their Peace Poster this year. The posters will be available for viewing in the hall during Learning Journey, so don't forget to pay a stop to the hall. The students and staff from OLC will start voting for the peace poster winner this week. Week 9 & 10 of Term 1

  K AY A, Can you believe that we have less than two weeks until the end of term 1? Congratulations, to all those students who completed their Year 4 Eucharist this morning. What a beautiful ceremony held at the church. It was nice to see so many of our Year 6 leaders, either celebrating this occasion with their families, playing in the school band or singing and supporting. 🙌 Our Learning: Seesaw  - Please log in to your child's seesaw account so that you can start to see some of their assessments displayed. The students have already posted a Reading activity, will be posting a Math assessment this week and a Religion one in the coming weeks.
